MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – In preparation for the annual Can-Am Junior Team Matches, an event sponsored by the South Carolina Junior Golf Association, Golf Tourism Solutions will be hosting Team Ontario at its training facility.
Beginning March 5, Team Ontario will spend more than two weeks training at the GTS facility, located on the back of the range at Barefoot Resort & Golf. Some of Canada’s best junior golfers will have access to covered hitting bays, multiple practice bunkers, practice putting greens, and a premium range.
The Can-Am Junior Team Matches will be played March 19-20 at Wachesaw Plantation Club, a private Tom Fazio-designed course regarded as one of the area’s best. The match play event features the top eight junior boys and girls from Ontario province competing against the top eight junior boys and girls from South Carolina.
The event has been played for more than 20 years and celebrates the bonds between South Carolina and residents of Ontario, Canada in particular, making Myrtle Beach the ideal host destination.
Home to 90 courses, Myrtle Beach has long been the most popular vacation destination for Canadian golfers. The area’s subtropical climate, combined with the quality and value of its golf offerings, are at the heart of its appeal north of the border.
